USS Boise Crew to Visit Boise Schools

Boise, ID -- 07/10/2023 -- Crew members from the USS Boise, a nuclear-powered naval submarine, will visit Boise School District secondary summer school students on Friday, July 14th, 2023.


Members of the news media are invited to attend the following visit:

  • Frank Church High School, 3608 S. Milwaukee Lane, Boise, ID 83709 (Alternative Junior High Summer Program):


  • First Presentation (7th Grade): 8:45-9:30 a.m.


  • Second Presentation (8th Grade): 9:35-10:20 a.m.

About USS Boise Crew

Three members of the USS Boise Crew will visit the Boise School District, as referenced in the above schedule. They are:

  • Steven Adolf, Leading Chief Petty Officer, Machinery Division
  • Larry Woolfolk, 2nd Class Petty Officer, Navigation Division
  • Kyle Waugh, Seaman, Fire Control Division

USS Boise (SSN-764), a Los Angeles-class submarine, is the second ship of the United States Navy to be named for Boise, Idaho. The Los Angeles-class, sometimes called the LA-class or the 688-class, is a class of nuclear-powered fast attack submarines that forms the backbone of the U.S. Navy's submarine force.
