Albany, NY – "Kevin's appointment is just one of the many exciting steps we're taking to enhance the future of the New York SBDC. His experience in education and building communication ecosystems will help us build a solid network-wide approach to telling our story," said Sonya Smith, New York SBDC State Director.
Previously McGoldrick helped kickstart communications for UC San Diego's Design Lab and was a partner at ChamberlaynePR, a strategic communications and public relations firm based in San Diego.

"I was extremely fortunate to be in the region at a time of significant and powerful change where there was great possibility to make dramatic change across an entire ecosystem," McGoldrick said.
McGoldrick additionally brings strong knowledge around workforce development and learning pathways, having worked on several educational initiatives focused on connected learning and micro-credentialing. McGoldrick was a project lead for LRNG, a city-wide initiative funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation—where he educated more than two dozen partners across the San Diego region on micro-credentialing and building learning pathways. Additionally, he helped lead the research efforts for and launch of a Connected Learning Program at UC San Diego.

Michèle Morris, Associate Director of UC San Diego's Design Lab, said, "Kevin was crucial in strategically and tactically building up communications at Design Lab and assisting us with our larger ambitions to bring design and education out to and beyond the broader San Diego-Tijuana community. It's exciting to see him find another dynamic and expansive ecosystem like the SBDC. He is a consummate team player and will be a considerable asset and wealth of knowledge for them."

Kevin McGoldrick said, "It is such a privilege to join a dynamic leader like Sonya and her team at this moment in its history. I'm excited to play my part in helping tell the story for an amazing network with an almost 40-year history that touches virtually all parts of New York State. Communications for me isn't a press release, an article, a post, or an event. At its most powerful, communications is simply the conversations people have with you and how you make them feel."
