Assiniboia Downs Wraps Up 2024 Racing Season with a 9-race card and Mandatory Payouts

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WINNIPEG, MB – September 22, 2024 — The excitement is building at Assiniboia Downs with preparations for the final two days of the 2024 racing season, which is set to conclude on Tuesday, September 24. With nine action-packed races scheduled, the final card promises to be an entertaining finale with some enticing betting offers for horseplayers.

One of the highlights of the closing week is the mandatory payout of the ASD Jackpot Pick 5, which has swelled to $206,511 heading into Monday’s race card. If the jackpot isn't claimed by a single winner on Monday, it will roll into Tuesday, where it must be paid out to all winners of the five designated races, even if that is one single ticket that takes down the full prize. The minimum wager to play is only $0.20.

Additionally, there will be a $50,000 guaranteed pool on the Pick 4 pool, a mandatory payout on the final Classic Hi-5 pool and rolling Doubles throughout the card.

"We are excited to see the Jackpot Pick 5 exceed $200,000 going into the closing week,” said Darren Dunn, CEO. “The mandatory event always creates a lot of excitement for horseplayers, with the jackpot of 'free money' being added to the payouts. If someone doesn't scoop the jackpot as the single winner on Monday, there will likely be a frenzy of activity on the pool on Tuesday."

In addition to the Jackpot Pick 5, Tuesday’s final card will also feature a number of juicy wagering promotions from HPIbet, Twinspires, TVG and 1/ST Bet (Xpressbet) to finish off the season with a bang. The races will also be broadcast on FanduelTV.

Watch the racing action at your local track or OTB, through your favourite ADW, or on YouTube Live. The ASD Live pre-game show with Kirt and Stretch starts at 6:45 pm (CDT) where they will provide valuable handicapping insights for each race on the card. The first race will go off at 7:30 pm (CDT) / 8:30 pm (EDT).
