Flemington Filling Station Adds Saturdays to Summer Music Lineup
– ‘Family Fun’ Beer Garden Opens May 25 –
May 10, 2018 FLEMINGTON, N.J. – Back by popular demand, Saturday nights will be added to the schedule at Flemington Filling Station, a borough-owned beer garden that features local music and family games on weekends. Now in its third year of operation, the Filling Station opens Friday, May 25, from 5-10 p.m. and runs through September 1.
A former gas station on 144 Main Street, the venue has become a popular summer gathering spot, but it was only open on Friday nights last year, following a two-night repertoire the summer before.
“Everyone wanted Saturdays back, and we listened,” said Ann Meredith, Executive Director of Flemington Community Partnership. “We’re so pleased to be able to offer both nights so people can join in the fun all weekend.” She added that with Flemington’s car shows on alternate Saturdays, visitors have one more thing to do as they wander around town and take advantage of restaurants and shopping.
Flemington Filling Station spotlights local musical talent and offers a large tent with picnic tables, umbrellas and outdoor games such as corn hole. Visitors can order food from local restaurants, some of which are featuring special “grab-and-go” menus and delivery service. In addition to beer and wine, nonalcoholic beverages are available at the Filling Station.
Here’s the schedule of musicians so far:
May 25: Big Horse Band; May 26, Fred’s Landing; June 1, Henry Wieczorek; June 2, Al Grigg; June 9, The Shackers; June 16, Fred’s Landing; June 22, Moore Brothers Band; June 29, Ed Jankiewicz; June 30, Coo Coo Cachoo; July 7, Ed Jankiewicz; July 21, Thomas Johnston; July 28, A.K.A.; August 18, Big Horse Band; Aug. 25, Jeff & Karen Duo; Sept. 1, Ed Jankiewicz
