ITEEA Announces 2024-2025

Gerald Day Excellence in Authorship Award Winners

RESTON, VA, August 23, 2025 - The International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) is proud to announce the top-rated articles from the 2024-2025 publishing year of the Technology and Engineering Education (TEE) journal. These outstanding contributions have been selected for their excellence in advancing the field and supporting educators in meaningful, practical ways.

The authors of these articles will be honored with the Gerald Day Excellence in Authorship Award at ITEEA’s 88th Annual Conference, taking place March 25–28, 2026, in Virginia Beach, VA.

Named in honor of longtime ITEEA member and former Technology and Engineering Teacher (TET) Review Board Chair Gerald F. Day, the award celebrates exceptional writing and thought leadership in technology and engineering education. Day, a passionate advocate for editorial quality, envisioned this award as a way to recognize authors whose work informs, inspires, and elevates the profession.

Award winners are selected by TEE readers themselves via ITEEA’s annual Communications Survey.

TEE Editors-in-Chief, Dr. Sharon Bowers and Joan Harper-Neely, DTE shared, "TEE authors provide high quality articles reflecting cutting edge thinking and best practices in integrative STEM Education. Our profession is elevated by their work and we applaud this year's recipients of the Gerald Day award."
