Winnipeg, Canada – September 5, 2023 - The Liquor Gaming Cannabis Authority (LGCA), the Provincial regulator of horse racing, in consideration of the welfare of the horses and riders participating at Assiniboia Downs, has cancelled live racing for Tuesday, Sept. 5 due to poor air quality.
Widespread wildfire smoke continues to produce very poor air quality and reduced visibility in and around the City of Winnipeg. It is expected to clear out of the region overnight.
