Message From the President
|
|
This week, the Chamber Board met. One item was to set the date for the Annual Awards and inauguration of Lincoln Parks as 2021 Board Chair. This virtual event will be held on Facebook Live at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17. I hope you’ll join us for an engaging hour highlighting our members and activities for 2020 as well as looking ahead to 2021. We thank all of our sponsors who have committed to the event.
Another item they acted on was passing a resolution in support of ESPLOST 6. A copy of the resolution may be found here. The Board encourages voters in the March 16 election to support the referendum as it impacts the future employer needs of Henry County while addressing workforce development, education attainment, transportation and infrastructure, quality of life, and safety and security. Several former and current volunteer leaders of the Chamber are members of the Committee for Our Children’s Future.
Finally, I want to thank the Henry County delegation for their willingness to join us for weekly legislative updates throughout session. Highlights of the conversations are available on Facebook. We plan to continue these conversations throughout the spring on Wednesday afternoons at 3:00. During this week’s conversation with State Sen. Emanuel Jones, we discussed SB 22 which establishes a board of ethics for Henry County Board of Commissioners, among other amendments to current code. Sen. Jones welcomes feedback to the proposed legislation which has bi-partisan support.

Year 2020 Annual Awards
- Business of the Year Award
- The Billy Carter Public Service Award
- The Citizen of the Year Award
Join us as we continue the tradition of honoring Henry County businesses and leaders.

|
Our first marquee event of the year is just around the corner. Help us thank Board Chair Christy Chewning of Central Georgia EMC for her leadership throughout 2020 and elevate Lincoln Parks, WebMobileFusion, to the role of 2021 Board Chair. While the pandemic will force us to do this virtually, we are creating a unique program to celebrate so many accomplishments.
Annual Awards
We will also recognize Henry County Chamber businesses and individuals with our annual awards: Business of the Year, Billy Carter Public Service Award, Volunteer of the Year, and Citizen of the Year.
Together with civic, community, and academic leaders, we recognize that we are one part of the ecosystem that will drive our region’s recovery. In these times of crisis, the Henry County Chamber needs your investment now more than ever in order to continue our work in support of our region on its journey to recovery through four strategic initiatives:
• Business Recovery
• Education & Workforce Attainment
• Equity & Inclusion
• Political Engagement
Sponsorship Opportunities
While this event will be virtual, we are planning an in-person community reception later this year to celebrate the accomplishments of many. Sponsorships are available starting at $500 and include recognition at both the awards ceremony and the reception.
Sponsorship allows you to create a point of difference between you and your competition. You will make connections with your target market(s), meet your objectives cost-effectively, and position your brand. If you are interested in learning more about sponsorship opportunities, please contact the Chamber at [email protected].
Your support of this event ensures that your company is recognized as an active participant in the Chamber’s mission of building a strong community through economic development and business support.
Thank you for your membership and support of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to working together for a prosperous, healthy 2021.
