The Home Builders Association staff was out and about working with local associations this past month. Staff and HBAM Executive Board members visited with local Executive Officers and Presidents across the state and attended quite a few membership meetings. We met with the following local associations in August:
Greater Hattiesburg HBA; HBA Southeast Mississippi; Meridian HBA; HBA of Vicksburg; HBA of North Central MS; Southwest Mississippi HBA and HBA of Jackson.
CAATS Solutions and Mississippi Housing Institute (MHI) has been on the road to improve education awareness on OSHA and safety training. They met with the following local associations to talk about education opportunities:
Golden Triangle HBA; HBA of Natchez; Greater Hattiesburg HBA; HBA of East Central MS; Southwest Mississippi HBA and Stone County HBA.
Kim Jent, MHI Executive Director, attended the NAHB Association Management Conference in Denver, Colorado. She
gained insight from members and will give an update at the November meeting to share some of their ideas.
Next month, HBAM staff is assisting the HBA of North MS with their upcoming Casino Night on Sept. 21 at the Olive Branch Country Club. Proceeds will benefit their local association and the Build PAC.
HBAM and MHI will also have a booth at the upcoming Tupelo Home & Garden Expo from Sept. 15-17. The Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Northeast Mississippi has partnered with WTVA to incorporate the industry's future workforce by including a Skills USA. We encourage everyone to participate and attend this event.
