Pathways to Congregational Fruitfulness & Health offers a menu of intentional processes congregations can use to prepare, assess, learn and grow in their understanding of what it means to be a healthy, fruitful congregation. It is a timely resource, especially now as we prepare for ministry in a post-pandemic future. And now you can learn all about it to help your church make important choices for a future that is visionary, viable and vital.

Pathways was presented to and approved by EPA’s 2022 Annual Conference. It offers helpful tools to create plans that provide clarity and focus, as churches take their next faithful steps in ministry. Those steps should be led by leaders and disciples who are called, equipped and mobilized for world-changing discipleship and ministry.
Pathways is an invitational initiative, not a requirement. It builds on the work your congregation has already done and offers new directions for being connected and engaged in mission and ministry. We will reoffer the program every two months, so churches can enroll when they are ready. We anticipate broad interest, as church leaders choose their desired destination and chart their pathway to reach it.
The five Pathways are:
PATHWAY I: Growing a Vital Mission Congregation – Training, planning and coaching to develop and carry out a plan to grow any one or more of the following: worship, small groups, mission engagement, new disciples and generosity.
PATHWAY II: Sustainability – understanding your congregation’s sustainability and how to strengthen your congregation’s long-term sustainability.
PATHWAY III: A Path Towards Wholeness Training and Planning – Learning, understanding and growing to end the sin of racism.
PATHWAY IV: Re-Envisioning Space / Property Development – Assessing your property for future mission (building expansion, turning space into community ministry, selling property).
PATHWAY V: Conflict Resolution – A facilitated process for congregations experiencing conflict about direction, mission, leadership or Churches that sign up during June and July will be in the first cycle of the Pathways Program, starting in September.
