NFCA Active – NFCA’s staff and committees have been busy researching fire-resistance standards such as ASTM E119 and UL 263 – the overarching standard for all fire-resistance-rated construction features - for background information needed for future code proposals. There has been a lot of discussion about performance based design and how it affects building safety, and much more. Stay tuned to stay on top of key technical issues in the industry.

⛑ SAFETY TIP OF THE MONTH ⛑
NFPA Fire Prevention Week Oct. 4-10, 2020
The Fire Prevention Week 2020 campaign highlights this year's focus on cooking safety and preventing kitchen fires at home. While fire prevention week is focused on Fire Safety in the Kitchen, we know that the structural fire-resistance package – SFRM, IFRM, Boards and Wraps – provide protection for when fires start, and are part of the complete building safety program. Thanks NFPA for making people aware of fire-safety. We at NFCA are glad to do our part promoting safety through fire-resistance, egress systems, sprinklers and detection/alarms and also, occupant education. Check out NFPA’s Fire Safety Week.
