Are Your Customer's Tanks Ready for the Floods &
Are You Complying with the
NFPA 58 Regulations for
Propane Tank Anchorage?
|
Don't Let This Happen to Your Customers!
|
|
|
NFPA 58 contains various regulations requiring propane tank anchorage in a variety of applications that apply to aboveground tanks, underground tanks, and cylinders. Locations for regulatory compliance with the use of anchors includes cylinders and tanks installed in flood prone areas, located on a floor, roof, or balcony to prevent falling over the edge, installed in high wind load areas, and to meet certain seismic criteria. Tank anchoring is a regulatory compliance requirement; but it, can also be marketed to customers as a risk management tool to reduce expense in the event of a flood or other event that may disrupt their tank and piping causing significant repair costs.
NFPA 58 Section 6.8.1.6 (2017 edition) requires securely anchoring a tank to prevent flotation due to possible high flood waters around aboveground or mounded containers, or high water tables for those underground and partially underground.
Due to these regulatory requirements and an increased number of designated flood plains; authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) have begun enforcing propane anchoring requirements.
This creates opportunity for Marketers.

Underground Tank Anode Test Decal
|
Gas Equipment Company introduces the New Anode Test Decal to document cathodic protection system tests.
As your delivery drivers and service technicians are servicing your customer’s underground tanks; will they know when it’s time to perform the NFPA 58 required cathodic protection system tests? According to the LP-Gas Code, the sacrificial anode must be tested upon installation, again 12 to 18 months after the initial test, and at intervals not to exceed 36 months thereafter.
Gas Equipment Company has developed an embossable aluminum decal for Marketers to apply to UG tanks to provide documentation as to when the last test had been conducted on a UG tank. These decals can be embossed using a ballpoint pen with the pressure leaving a permanent impression of the information entered.
For easy access and viewing the decal can be applied to the backside of the UG tank ID tag or on the dome; both locations will allow for additional marking of the second and third test results. In addition to marking the date & test results, you can mark to identify how many anodes were installed, the size of the anodes, and the specific location in relation to the tank. Plus, you can document if the tank has been di-electrically isolated.
Contact your Gas Equipment Company representative or office today to place your order for these new Anode Test decals.
Ask for part number UG-ANODE-TEST.

EZ-Link Office is the Middleware that communicates with the trucks computing systems and the back office accounting systems. EZ-Link Office is cloud based and the data is stored at a secure data center. Because it’s cloud based and written with tools that make it usable on tablets and cell phones, it will allow the customer to run their business from anywhere.

Thoughts or Laughs for the Month
|
|
Optical illusions, or visual illusions, are defined by “the dissociation between the physical reality and the subjective perception of an object or event.” When we experience an optical illusion, we often see something that is not there or fail to see something that is there.
|
|
Before reading the following joke; I must offer my apologies to all blondes for posting this laugh for the month. I apologize and am still LMAO. BTW, my wife is blonde, and I adore her.
A blonde cop pulled over a blonde lady for speeding on a highway. The cop asked the driver for her driver's license, and she asked, "what's that?" The cop replied, "You know - it's that squarish thingy with your picture on it."
The driver reaches for her purse, finds a small mirror, looks in it, and then hands it to the cop. After looking at it, the cop handed it to the driver, saying, "OK, you can go. I didn't know you were a cop."
------------------------------
My neighbor a school teacher shared this with me about one of her students, who is a son of a parent employed in the propane industry:
The question presented to students was, "Why are days longer in the summer and shorter in the winter?"
The student answered, "Heat makes objects expand and cold makes them contract!"
----------------------------------
I decided this Spring I would go to the Gym. While I was there, I saw some idiot put a water bottle in the Pringles holder on the treadmill!
