National Mentoring Month, celebrated annually in January, is a month-long observance that brings together advocates for mentorship and aims to promote legislative priorities while creating awareness of the positive impact that mentors can have on young people. As part of the celebration, NGCP is emphasizing the significance of role models and mentors in empowering girls and young women to actively pursue STEM education and careers. Project CLERIS - Collaborating Learning Engagement and Resources In Science
Project Cleris is looking for mentors to help tutor and mentor kids in all things science. When you volunteer as a mentor, you sign up to tutor younger teens/preteens in science via Zoom. A meeting with a given student is not reoccurring and is a one-time thing. You may mentor as many students as you would like per month. CLERIS will provide information about what the student is struggling with/needs your help with. Learn more and apply.

IF/THEN® Collection
IF/THEN® is an initiative from Lyda Hill Philanthropies designed to activate a culture shift among young girls and introduce them to STEM careers. This month, we are highlighting J'Tia Hart. Known for impartial assessments and relatable explanations of STEM topics, Dr. Hart has written national security reports and delivered briefings for the government’s most senior policymakers. National Fluid Power Association Scholarship
The National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) offers two different scholarships to students interested in fluid power education. With nearly 300 companies in their membership, the NFPA is a trade association serving manufacturers of fluid power (hydraulic and pneumatic) components and systems, their distributors, suppliers, and related educators
2024 NFPA Fluid Power Scholarship – multiple $2,000.00 scholarships are awarded to high school seniors and students enrolled at community colleges, technical colleges, and universities to pursue their interests in fluid power. Applications are due April 1, 2024, at 11:59 PM Central
2024 NFPA Robotics Challenge Scholarship – one $30,000.00 scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who participates in a FIRST® Robotics, National Robotics League, or VEX Robotics Competition Team and uses fluid power in their robot. The money awarded is used to study engineering at any accredited technical college or university in the United States. Applications are due May 5, 2024, at 11:59 PM Central.

Techbridge Girls Applications Open
Techbridge Girls is recruiting out-of-school time (OST) educators to participate in STEM and equity training, curriculum, resources, and ongoing support. Services equip educators with gender- and culturally-responsive teaching tools and program materials to support youth persistence in STEM and expose girls to BIPOC peers and role models from STEM fields.
