Did you know that participation in afterschool science clubs and friendships plays a key role in shaping middle school students’ science identities?

This article highlights how students’ friendships can play a part in how youth see themselves related to science. It is noteworthy that having friends who participate in afterschool science clubs is related to higher science identities even for students who do not participate in those clubs themselves, especially since afterschool science clubs are not available or accessible to all students.
