International Day of the Girl

October 11, 2023 is the International Day of the Girl (IDG), which aims to promote girls' rights worldwide. Unfortunately, we are currently witnessing a number of movements that seek to limit the rights of girls and women and reverse progress towards gender equality. Girls are particularly affected by these negative developments. From October 2023 to October 2024, UNICEF is partnering with governments and civil society organizations to take action and address this issue. Learn more about these efforts.
