Message from Karen Peterson, CEO
This month, as we close out our celebration of our 20th anniversary of collaboration and service to girls, I am reflecting on the significant progress we’ve made in our mission to inform and encourage girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). NGCP's work has had a real impact on the lives of girls across the country. We have helped to increase girls' interest in STEM, their confidence in their abilities, and their access to STEM opportunities. We have also helped to change the culture around STEM, making it more inclusive and welcoming to girls. And it’s truly a WE, hundreds of Collaborative Leadership team members across the US, thousands of educators leading programs, role models sharing their inspiring stories, and national Champions Board members contributing expertise and resources. So much has changed in our world since NGCP began; however, collaboration persists as an effective strategy for increasing impact. Thank you to those of you who have collaborated with us over the past 20 years, and if you are new to our community, welcome! There is still much work to be done and we look forward to working with you!
