Registration Renewal
India maintains very strict standards regarding the financial oversight of NGOs (Non-Government Organizations) that receive funds from outside the country. An NGO, in addition to abiding by local laws and its own constitution or articles of association, must also comply with the terms and conditions of donors who want to ensure that award funds are spent wisely.

Carnevali Foundation has been compliant since 2004 and recently received approval to continue for the next five years. All donated funds go to a designated bank in Delhi and reports are annually submitted by our Board of Trustees.

Recent Highlights
of the Carnevali Foundation's Work...
Samson Nadimidoddi, one of our First Graduates

Samson attended the Yellamabanda Government School and graduated in 2010. In India, students graduate after ten years of study and then, if qualified, can continue their studies for 2 years in an Intermediate College Program or 3 years in a Polytechnic College Program. 

Samson received his Diploma from the Siddipet Polytechnic Government College. He then continued his studies in Computer Science and graduated from the Gokaraju Rangaraju College. He has been working for 7 years at Evoke Technologies Pvt Ltd as a Senior Technical Assistant. Samson also serves on our Carnevali Foundation Board of Trustees and often volunteers to mentor and inspire our younger students.
Volunteerism

High School students from the Oakridge School worked with our primary students at Kaithalpur Government Primary School. 

Oakridge is an independent school and Kaithalpur is a Carnevali Foundation sponsored school. The children especially enjoyed the origami project which is essentially is a paper folding art. All that is needed is plain paper — no scissors, no glue, no other instruments. Origami can help reduce stress, improve hand-eye coordination, boost creativity, enhance patience and persistence, and promote learning and education.

This was a very fun learning experience and had great results for both groups of students.
Tharevir High School Progress

Tharevir school is located in the hills outside Kathmandu, Nepal. We are mid-construction and hope to see its completion this year. Weather, roads and earthquakes can vastly influence the progress of construction and we are hopeful to have no delays.

The Chay Ya Foundation (our partner in Nepal) has done a great job managing the building progress. Local residents are excited to have a high school for students to attend.

Carnevali Foundation previously built the Tharevir Primary School in the area which has seen increased attendance over time with much enthusiasm and support from the local community.
Adult Literacy Examination

Carnevali Foundation sponsors two Adult Literacy Programs: one at Shiva Nagar and another at MA Nagar Primary Schools.

Recently we initiated a 3 month review & exam to assess progress in order to develop future lesson plans. This enables the teachers to adapt instruction to the needs of the adult students. Lessons primarily focus on basic math, reading and conversational skills. For the majority of the adults this is their first experience attending school. It is not unusual for toddlers to attend with the mothers, and they are generally able to play and sit quietly. Attendance can be challenging for some, but we have seen great improvement over time. These adults are very motivated and eager to have the same skills as their children who attend our schools. Instruction is taught in English at Shiva Nagar and in Telugu at MA Nagar.
