I can’t believe that summer is almost over and the start of another year is arriving before we will know it!

We are working hard to get ready for the coming year: cleaning, preparing lesson plans, developing logistics for student activities, and praying for your student and for the entire community. Last year was a wonderful year, with many exciting developments and opportunities, but the coming year promises to be even more interesting.

Our new Chick-fil-A should open when students return, ESPN3 will be broadcasting our home football game on Sept. 29, and we have launched a new faculty development program, the Center for Teaching Excellence, which we believe can help our professors refine their always strong pedagogy.

We will start the year with special services led by Chad Poe, a gifted, Gospel-focused communicator.

All told, we are diligently aligning everything we do at the university to be under the Lordship of Christ as we cultivate transformational leaders for church and society. We are so glad that you and your family are a part of this community of grace and we look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Dr. Gene C. Fant, Jr.
Stand in the gap for NGU students, faculty, and administration by joining NGU parents in monthly prayer. Our desire is to encourage, support, and gain strength from parents as we spend time talking with God about the needs of the students, faculty, and administration; unite with other parents to pray; and gain peace of mind in knowing our students are blessed with prayer.

We will make a monthly prayer focus and list topics and suggestions for related prayers that are particularly relevant for college students. More information will be included in the September issue of Parent Connection.
