This E-Newsletter specifically outlines Statewide collaborative efforts to provide information and resources on the Pyramid Model.

A special thanks goes out to all of the programs, providers and coaches who took the time to share their successes with us this month.

Putting the Pyramid Model Into Practice
Highlight On: Barrington Village School (BVS)
Donna Massucci knows a thing or two about challenging behaviors.
She has gone to countless trainings on the subject since she founded Barrington Village School in 2001. Her family and child enrichment program has been in operation for over 17 years. “We have some spirited children” she said affectionately.
Donna decided to try something different when an opportunity came up to be part of a Pyramid Model implementation cohort and have her center coached on program-wide implementation.
“Julie and Deborah gave us a recipe [Julie Sackett and Deborah Stokel, NH Master Cadre members and Program coaches with BVS]. They taught us steps and gave us a frame to work with.” During their coaching meetings, “We started to understand that we need to look at what is happening before the behavior happens. The issue happens before the moment.”
Highlight On:
The Children’s’ Learning Center (TCLC)

In August 2019, The Children’s’ Learning Center (TCLC) at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth Hitchcock in Keene began participating in iSocial to implement the Pyramid Model. Within seven months COVID 19 challenged the Team and they had to rethink their family engagement strategies.
Recognizing the need to increase support and resources to families (and staff), they created a Family First Aid Binder full of resources related to COVID 19, responding to challenging behavior, building resiliency and safety but also those that address basic economic needs related to housing, utilities, food and childcare, transportation, substance abuse and mental health supports.
iSocial April Update
iSocial Implementation Site Highlight:
Lancaster Play & Learn Center
"Children are often using the ‘tool wall’ that includes our "How are you feeling?" poster, solution kit cards, and breathing techniques. It's encouraging to see them go to the wall when experiencing a challenge to find a solution together or even suggest solutions to peers from the wall."
- Kaylah Graham, Associate Preschool Teacher

Lancaster Play & Learn Center has been an iSocial implementation site in the North Country since 2019. Since day one, they have understood the importance of creating nurturing and responsive relationships within their program for the children and families they serve as well as for their staff. These critical relationships are the bottom tier of the Pyramid Model and serve as a foundation to positive social-emotional development. The pandemic has really highlighted the importance of creating these relationships and the work the Center has done to provide quality care and build strong, supportive relationships amongst the staff, children and families has paid off! To learn more about their efforts click on the link below.
