New Hampshire’s Largest Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention Event Returns on Sunday, October 6th
More Than 1,200 Participants Already Registered for NAMIWalks NH
CONCORD, NH – NAMIWalks New Hampshire, the Granite State’s largest mental health awareness and suicide prevention event, returns on October 6th to the Soccer Fields on S. Fruit Street in Concord. All funds raised stay in New Hampshire to provide free support, education, and advocacy for over 50,000 Granite Staters affected by mental illness and suicide.
More than 1,200 participants across 140 teams have already registered to take part in NAMIWalks NH on Sunday, October 6th. Whether you join us in-person or as a virtual Walker, you are part of an important movement that lets folks know they are not alone. Hope and help are available – and when you participate in NAMIWalks NH, you help share that message far and wide.
Emily Shirlock has been a participant in NAMIWalks New Hampshire for nearly a decade, walking with Team Hope NH. She is one of the top fundraisers for the 2024 Walk. “The Walk means so much to me because it shows how much our community cares about those who are struggling with their mental health,” says Emily. “There are people out there who really care about us even if we don’t think there are. No matter what, there is help out there and you are not alone.”
Registration for NAMIWalks NH is free online at NAMIWalksNH.org.
Participants raising $100 or more will receive a t-shirt on event day. In addition to the 5K route, a shorter 1-mile route is also available. NAMIWalks NH features a Kid Zone with a bounce house, climbing wall, face painting, a unicorn meet and greet, and a puppet show. Snacks are generously provided by Hannaford Supermarkets and The Crust and Crumb Baking Co. All activities are family-friendly, dog-friendly (well-behaved dogs only, please), fun, and free!
NAMI New Hampshire Executive Director Susan Stearns said, “NAMIWalks NH brings our community together to raise awareness, start open and honest conversations about mental health, and share a message of help and hope. You are not alone – and when folks are gathered 1500 strong on the field and walking through the streets of Concord, we share that message far and wide. Every year, we look forward to seeing folks who have walked with us for 20+ years and meeting those who are new to the Walk. Please join us on Sunday, October 6th to experience this incredible event for yourself.”
Special thanks to this year’s Premier Sponsor, Jasmor Roofing & Contracting.
