Yale’s Lot 51, located on Temple Street between Wall and Elm Streets, is available after 4:30 pm for the public, Monday through Friday and all day on Saturday. Yale’s Lot 51 has capacity for about 70 cars.

Join Jill Celentano to learn what it means to be transgender. Jill is a 57-year-old transgender woman who transitioned two years ago. She works with an LGBTQ afterschool program in a New Haven high school and recently presented with them at the True Colors Conference held at UCONN. Appropriate for ages 14 and up.

Join Lauren Johnson from SCSU’s Buley Library for a variety of STEM programming! Create with KEVA Planks, make anything a touch pad with MakeyMakey, or design your own 3D printed objects! Families and children/teens of all ages welcome! Children under the age of 9 need adult supervision.

In this exhibit, Marsha Borden exploits the sculptural qualities of the single-use plastic bag while examining its place in our culture. What do we consume? Can we ever really throw things “away?” Can waste be beautiful? Do we have an obligation to save the planet by cutting down on our use of plastic? Can we carry a plastic bag without feeling guilty? Is there a place for plastic?

In 2011, roughly 6-9 million people in the U.S. were estimated to live in a gated community, with 1 in every 2 houses being built behind walls in California alone. Liz Antl-O’Donnell’s recent body of work focuses specifically on gated communities, drawing parallels between this rapidly expanding phenomenon and what is happening in our country today.

A resident of Westville, John Kabala is a folk artist who uses color and abundance of vision in his paintings to create a unique style of art. Many of his pieces involve historical figures, past events, fantasy, childhood scenery and children’s fairy tales.
