Our Story. Our Health. Help Fund Our Efforts This Giving Tuesday.
Our culture has been woven into the fabric of America for centuries. Current efforts are trying to erase us, but we are not quitters. Our commitment is proof that our culture, our people and our communities cannot be erased. Juntos, no nos pueden borrar.
This holiday season, NHMA asks its members and supporters to come together and help us exceed our Giving Tuesday fundraising goal of $10,000. Visit our new site now and complete your donation before Giving Tuesday (December 2, 2025). Juntos, podemos más.

How Is Our Story Being Deleted? And How Does the NHMA Alliance Help?
Current efforts are attacking our communities and threatening to erase our people and our culture. Whether through efforts that limit access to basic education and professional development, place restrictions on obtaining health and wellness services, or encourage persecution based on race, the advancement of Hispanic professionals is witnessing unprecedented challenges.
As NHMA's new charitable arm, the NHMA Alliance (501(c)(3)), is a mission-driven nonprofit whose work focuses on career development, leadership preparation, and educational training opportunities for college and medical students, residents, doctors and allied health care professionals. Contributions collected by the NHMA Alliance power transformative programs and campaigns that improve the lives of providers and patients.

NHMA Pennsylvania Celebrates Years of Triumphs and Community Involvement With First Annual Gala
On Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, the National Hispanic Medical Association's (NHMA) Pennsylvania Chapter hosted an elegant celebration to highlight all of the Chapter's work and accomplishments over the last few years. This celebration saw dozens of members come together in honor of Hispanic medical excellence, enjoying local live music, food, dancing and the presentation of three inaugural awards — the Heart of Service, Bridge to Action and Catalyst for Impact — to 11 distinguished individuals who were recognized for their exemplary leadership, collaboration and transformative community engagement.
The celebrations for the NHMA Pennsylvania Chapter continued into the end of the month, as Chapter Chair Sarah Ramirez, MD, FAAFP, was formally recognized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's House of Representatives with a citation commending Dr. Ramirez for her distinguished community work through the NHMA Pennsylvania Chapter. Dr. Ramirez and Chapter representatives were invited to the state Capitol for a formal reading of the recognition on the House floor.
"This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for NHMA PA, as I work toward deepening our engagement in state-level advocacy. I'm confident that this momentum will help us strengthen our impact and expand our reach across the Commonwealth," said Dr. Ramirez of the special recognition.
