NHMA Pennsylvania Chapter Celebrates Years of Triumphs and Community Involvement With First Annual Gala
On Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, the National Hispanic Medical Association's (NHMA) Pennsylvania Chapter hosted an elegant celebration to highlight all of the Chapter's work and accomplishments over the last few years. This celebration saw dozens of members come together in honor of Hispanic medical excellence, enjoying local live music, food, dancing and the presentation of three inaugural awards — the Heart of Service, Bridge to Action and Catalyst for Impact — to 11 distinguished individuals who were recognized for their exemplary leadership, collaboration and transformative community engagement.
The celebrations for the NHMA Pennsylvania Chapter continued into the end of the month, as Chapter Chair Sarah Ramirez, MD, FAAFP, was formally recognized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's House of Representatives with a citation commending Dr. Ramirez for her distinguished community work through the NHMA Pennsylvania Chapter. Dr. Ramirez and Chapter representatives were invited to the state Capitol for a formal reading of the recognition on the House floor.
"This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for NHMA PA, as I work toward deepening our engagement in state-level advocacy. I'm confident that this momentum will help us strengthen our impact and expand our reach across the Commonwealth," said Dr. Ramirez of the special recognition.
