NHHF, with support from The Rockefeller Foundation and the Solo Kiko program, is
working to educate Hispanic and Latino families on COVID-19 prevention and vaccination. Community health organizations in our target cities of Houston, Chicago, and Oakland can support these efforts by applying for community activation grants up to $5,000. Become a Vaccinate For All Champion to support!
The NHMA Leadership Fellowship is a training program for mid-career and older physicians with significant leadership experience who are committed to the work of improving public health. As part of this fellowship, you will have the opportunity to serve in a national campaign as a Vaccinate For All Champion.
The Hispanic Leadership Development Fellowship Program is offering graduate students and recent graduates a paid one-year leadership fellowship to accelerate HHS and federal careers. Ten fellows will be chosen to work on-site at the HHS office in Washington, D.C. with at least two rotations at different agencies within HHS.

Influenza Campaign
NHMA is continuing to expand the health communications campaign supported by Sanofi to improve influenza vaccination rates for adult Hispanics and encourage the administration of the influenza vaccines.
NHMA Conference attendees are invited to partake in a congressional visit to Capitol Hill to advocate for programs and policies impacting Latino health on Friday, March 24. Legislative Update

Dear Colleagues,

NHMA was invited to the White House's launch of the National COVID-19 Preparedness Plan, visit whitehouse.gov/covidplan/ more information. The House of Representatives passed a long overdue appropriations package that includes increased funding for several important priorities for NHMA. Included in the package are important funding for education programs including $183 million for Hispanic Serving Institutions, a $34 million increase from last year. Also included was more funding to combat chronic diseases like cancer, HIV/AIDS, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s disease...
Member Spotlight
NHMA would like to highlight the accomplishments of Ana Maria Lopez, MD, MPH for being honored with Al Día's Top Doctors Lifetime Achievement Award! In addition to being a leader on NHMA's Journal Committee, Dr. Lopez is a professor and vice chair of medical oncology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Director of Integrative Oncology for the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, and Medical Director and Chief of Cancer Services at Jefferson Health - New Jersey.
