NHMA joins partners in calling on SCOTUS, Congress, and State Policymakers to continue Roe and protect women’s rights to reproductive health, including abortion |

The National Hispanic Medical Association urgently called for the Senate to pass the Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA). The recent leak of a draft Supreme Court decision has only made the need for the WHPA to be placed into law much more urgent. Nearly 36 million women would lose access to reproductive healthcare if Roe is overturned including 5.7 million Hispanics. These women would be forced to either endure long travel and cost to get the help they need or into less than safe conditions to receive reproductive services. Everyone deserves access to essential healthcare, free of barriers regardless of where they live. Women should have the right to make decisions about their reproductive health. |

Legislative Update
Dear Colleagues,
Recently, a leaked draft Supreme Court decision showed the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade and push the decision of restricting abortions to the states. If this draft becomes the final decision, half the states in the country will have laws on the books that would severely or outright ban on abortions. NHMA unequivocally opposes this draft decision and the overturn of Roe. Abortion is health care and NHMA supports access to health care for all women. NHMA called on the Senate to pass...
