As healthcare becomes increasingly unaffordable, patients are often unable to shoulder the weight of these rising costs, resulting in poor health outcomes due to lack of treatment adherence. In this webinar hosted by NHHF Board Member Dr. Mark Diaz, Cost of Care Specialist Dr. Mauricio Gonzalez will discuss what contributes to healthcare costs and adherence barriers, and how GoodRx can help patients save on the medications you prescribe—completely free of charge.

Did you know that certain signs and symptoms of dementia disproportionately impact Hispanics? Some findings are probably influenced by Hispanic social and cultural practices. Others — particularly a marked increase in anxiety and depression when compared to Blacks and non-Hispanic whites — could be related to the disease process itself. Read more from AARP.

NHMA President's Legislative Update
Dear Colleagues,

The Affordable Care Act’s open enrollment period began on November 1 and runs through January 15, 2022. Please be sure to make any and all aware of this critical time period so those who wish to sing up to purchase health insurance or to change their existing plan to another are able to do so without loss of coverage or getting stuck waiting another year to sign up.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure bill was passed by the House of Representatives and is now headed to President Biden for his signature. The bill includes investments in clean energy and needed transportation projects that will create many new jobs. The Build Back Better bill is still being worked on by the Congress and NHMA has continued to work with our coalition partners to ensure that important priorities like Medicaid and Medicare expansion, paid leave and investments in childcare, eldercare and education are still included in the final bill.
