COVID19 Pandemic Update
On September 5, 2020, NHN returned to client shopping within the warehouse. The new shopping by appointment has proven to be a success!! There are many changes due to COVID 19 guidelines and precautions to protect volunteers and clients. Please go to www.nhnamherst.org for more information.
Attention: Urgently Needed Items
The pandemic has restricted local stores from placing special bulk orders for these items. As a result, we are running short of these and would appreciate any help with getting them restocked. Perhaps this could be a school, church, or work group project. Any donations of these items can be left at our NHN Warehouse, 151 Mitchell Bell Road in Madison Heights. The best days for leaving items are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please note: Also needed are 32 oz. boxes of Pancake Mix.
14 oz. Mustard
4 lbs of Sugar
24 oz. Pancake Syrup
15 oz. Ketchup
Fruit Cup Pack of 6
15 oz. Mayonnaise

Thank you to our Community Partners!

Thank you to Sweet Briar College for food donations received during their Philanthropy Week. Representatives, Emily Dodson, Alumnae Relations & Development and Clelie Steckel, Director of SBC Fund from Alumnae Relations & Development graciously delivered the items to NHN on October 8, 2020.

Thank you to Kristi, Nina, and Jeff from Food Lion for delivering some of our most needed food products! We are so grateful for such wonderful partners who work hard to help make a difference in our community.
Volunteer Acknowledgement
This newsletter we focus on a very special volunteer. Elaine Neill is special to the warehouse volunteers and NHN clients. She has been helping shoppers navigate the USDA aisle since our warehouse opened. Elaine is always encouraging to volunteers and clients with a big smile and often a big hug.
NHN President Garry Friend honored Elaine for her faithfulness on her last Saturday, October 3, as she is relocating to Tennessee to assume her new role as "Grandma" to her first grandchild! While we at NHN are excited for Elaine, we will miss her greatly!
