Case Updates
Over the past few weeks we've been working hard on our 9.2 and 10.2 case challenges, and have finally wrapped them up!

We will be launching our next cases with Arby's and The Home Depot next week. These are national case challenges which means that every 3DE school in the country will be working on the same cases. After we select our Northview winners, those students will go on to compete against 3DE students at other schools. Stay tuned for more!

Advice From the Advisory Board
Hi! I'm Riya, a senior at Northview. I approach case challenges very systematically. First, I learn about the case challenge company: their brand, vision, history, everything that makes them unique and who they are. Then, I understand the case/problem: the root cause of the problem, the people who are being influenced by the problem, and what the company has done to address the problem. Next, I brainstorm ideas for solutions, do research, consider how the solution may impact stakeholders, how it can be implemented by the company, and how realistic is it. Oftentimes, my team and I create a multifold solution to address needs of all the stakeholders. Once the solution is ready, we make the presentation and practice. Practicing is so important! It is how you tell the audience how amazing your solution is.
Teaching & Learning Spotlight
Recently in Ms. Schmidt's Accelerated Geometry class, students completed a warmup that touched on two of the 3DE competencies, effective collaboration and critical and analytical thinking. Students were told to work in a group so solve some review problems. The twist? The final problem was not one Ms. Schmidt had taught how to complete yet! However, by using their critical and analytical thinking skills, students could apply what they had already learned about the concept at hand to solve the problem. The first group to successfully complete the activity got 3DE bracelets!
