NOW OPEN: Register for NIA’s Introduction to Mechanical Insulation

Introduction to Mechanical Insulation, Part 1
The 2-day intro-only online course is excellent training for new employees to educate them about the mechanical insulation industry and products. Give your remote workers a new understanding of the industry in just 2 days online, September 30–October 1.

Certification Level Course, Part 2
If you are interested in becoming a Certified Insulation Inspector, the interactive class will continue with Part 2 on October 6–7. This 4-day course will educate participants on how to inspect and verify that the materials and the insulation system have been installed in accordance with the mechanical insulation specifications.

Senate Leadership to Release New COVID-19 Relief Package, Including PPP Funds and Liability Protections for Businesses

Senate Republicans are planning to introduce a “skinny” coronavirus relief bill, amid an impasse in negotiations. The latest GOP relief bill is expected to include $300 in boosted weekly federal unemployment benefits, another round of money for the Paycheck Protection Program, an additional $10 billion for the U.S. Postal Service, and liability protections. ABC Reports Decline in Construction Backlog in July

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) reported that its Construction Backlog Indicator declined to 7.8 months in July, a decrease of 0.3 months from the June reading, according to an ABC member survey conducted from July 20 to August 5. Backlog is a full month lower than in July 2019. Additionally, confidence among U.S. construction industry leaders declined in July regarding sales, staffing levels, and profit margins, according to ABC’s Construction Confidence Index. Sales and profit margin expectations are below the threshold of 50, indicating ongoing expectations of contraction. Less than 29% of contractors expect their profit margins to increase over the next 6 months, while greater than 47% expect shrinking profit margins over that period. Click here to read more.
