NIA Advocates for the Industry
NIA Joins Fellow Insulation Groups in Support of the INSULATE Buildings Act
NIA is urging support for The Investing in New Strategies for Upgrading Lower Attaining Efficiency (INSULATE) Buildings Act (S. 2066). NIA and other insulation organizations sent a letter of support to the bill cosponsors for additional federal funding for building renovations that are intended to improve energy efficiency, as proposed under the INSULATE Buildings Act. The letter points out that the impact of the INSULATE Buildings Act could be increased significantly by leveraging this new funding to encourage states and territories to adopt the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for commercial and residential buildings. Click here to read the full letter.

NIA Opposes Reduction or Repeal of Section 199A Tax Deduction
NIA and more than 100 other organizations shared with Congressional leadership their strong opposition to any reduction or repeal of the current 20% deduction for qualified business income under Section 199A. Proposals to limit or repeal the deduction would hurt businesses owned by individuals and families. The tax plan released by the White House in March left the deduction fully intact, and the organizations strongly oppose any attempt by Congress to cap or repeal it. Click here to read the letter.
