Mike Moore, Hayden Homes
2021 NIBCA President
Happy New Year, I hope all of you enjoyed some well-deserved time off to spend with your families during the holiday season. My name is Mike Moore and I am honored to be this year’s NIBCA President. I have been in the construction industry for 17 years, spending the last 13 with Hayden Homes. I am excited to be a part of this association and look forward to another great building season in 2021. Interest rates continue to be at record lows and the demand has never been higher for people who are looking to relocate to this beautiful corner of our country. I would like to thank Scot Haug for doing such a stellar job as President in 2020, along with all the staff and the Executive Board. Last year was a challenging year, to say the least, and we could not have gotten through it without all the dedication of the NIBCA leadership. With large shoes to fill, I will do my best to keep the NIBCA prospering as it has for so many years.
A few business-related items I would like to cover, the state meetings scheduled for this month will be held virtually. We will also be hosting our annual luncheon with our state representatives virtually. The Home and Garden Show has been moved from March to April 23rd, 24th and 25th. The Construction Combine is scheduled for May 4th and 5th at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds for our local high school students to participate in. The cities of Coeur d’Alene and Hayden have decided to adopt the 2018 International Building Code. If anyone needs additional information on what the changes entail, please reach out to me and I can help assist you. We are trying to host our much anticipated Gone Wild event in March but due to the COVID restrictions its possible we will have to wait until November. As soon as we know more from the Governor’s Office, we will update everyone on the final plan.
I hope everyone has a very successful 2021 and I look forward to helping all of our members excel during these tough times, pushing the NIBCA’s mission to protect our great building industry here in North Idaho. With so many great building minds in our association, any feedback or ideas to make this year as successful as possible, I encourage you to bring them to me.
Thank you, Mike Moore
