Presence and Encouragement
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
God created us to be in community. We are a family, as brothers and sisters in Christ to be about the work God has gifted us to do. No matter what stage of life, location of residence, or where we are in our daily walk, we are blessed to be in God’s family and encourage one another. This verse reminds us of the holy habit of Public Worship. It’s a gift for you and for others.
We have the gift of our congregation, school, friends, etc… (the list could go on). As children of God, let us walk together, meet together, worship together, and be in fellowship with one another. This strengthens all of us and binds us together in faith. There is no replacement for public worship.
BE PRESENT with and for one another: not simply listening to the sharing, but hearing the words, cares, and concerns. Pray for one another. Spending time in God’s Word together is the greatest gift you can give. Your presence with a friend or co-worker could be just the thing they need on a given day. Care and concern for them come from your love for God. Lift one another up and offer that extra time.
I give thanks daily for the time my brothers and sisters in Christ give me when I need a shoulder and ear of care. God blesses me through them. I pray I am the same for others. Let’s continue to support and be present for God’s gift of friends. One tiny word might be all it takes to change the direction of someone’s day! Ask God to make you that word of change.
As we place our faith and trust in God, we can all be thankful that God holds us in the palm of His hand and gives us what He knows is best for us. So, when trials come, step back and trust that God’s plan is perfect. Stay in the Word. Take care of yourself to be Well. Use your words and life as a Witness. God is faithful. Jesus is praying for you as your Great High Priest.
Surround yourself with people who listen, pray for you, and speak the best words!
Remember each day – Christ loves you and holds you close.
