NIPFC August 2024 Blast

We are thrilled to bring you the first morsel of a groundshaking announcement, along with an epic podcast and two upcoming appearances in conferences to whet your appetite in our August 2024 blast.

While there will be many more details to follow, we are taking this opportunity to announce that NIPFC and Seneca Family of Agencies are partnering with Connect Our Kids to infuse our “Family Network Building: Realizing a Just Permanency for all Families” approach in Connect Our Kids’ Family Connections software tool. The final revisions are expected within a week or so of this writing, and we will premiere this tool in person at the California Alliance Child and Family Services Conference in San Diego on Thursday, September 5 at 11:45 am PDT. We will also be sharing this tool at the Kempe Center’s “A Call to Action to Change Child Welfare” conference, at which we will be appearing virtually on Tuesday, October 8 at 8:15 am PDT.

We recorded a podcast with Mike, Ashley and Summer that tells of the development of the Practice in Action Together (PACT) effort in Ohio. It’s a story of healing by a parent and social worker via the Public Children Services Association of Ohio (PCSAO) in which the values and actions of PACT were central and visible within this story. This is a captivating pod and we encourage you to have a good listen!

Again, much more news to follow in the coming weeks that will provide more detail to this exciting partnership, which enhances the most affordable and user-friendly software tool used by nearly 2,000 child welfare professionals throughout the United States. This collaboration ensures that case work will be more geared to tracking and communicating effective engagement focused on the involvement and impact of kin. It also furthers the efforts locally, regionally, statewide and nationally to establish a kin-first, family-centered practice, which is at the heart of NIPFC/Seneca’s approach.

New Podcast Episode of "Let's Have a Conversation" with the Public Children Services Association of Ohio (PCSAO)

Designed with a vision of equity, Ohio’s new shared practice model is PACT — Practice in Action Together. PACT has been developed for (and by) public children services agencies: caseworkers, supervisors, and agency leaders working alongside families, former foster youth, academics, and other experts.

Here is a quick overview of the PACT model: https://www.pcsao.org/programs-events/pact/
