Greetings!

We are excited to release our first blast in a while, which has a number of announcements along with the release of two podcasts with Allambi Care in Australia.

Firstly, I had the pleasure of speaking with Kelly-Lee Goodchild and Errin Schumann of Allambi Care in Australia, chronicling their journey to become a more family-centered practice organization. Mike Mertz (who has been connected for the last four years with Allambi Care providing training, coaching and implementation support) and I covered a range of topics with Kelly-Lee and Errin about what drove them and their organization to become more family-centered, the progress and struggles along the way, and what they had learned as a result of this journey, amongst other topics. Please see the caption below for more information on the two pods, as well as a link to a moving story about how re-connecting a youth in one of their programs with their family was a life-saving and transforming event in this youth’s life.

Secondly, we are proud to share that again NIPFC is a proud supporter and conference partner of the Kempe Center’s 2022 International Virtual Conference: A Call to Action to Change Child Welfare. The conference will take place from October 3-6, 2022, and we include the Call for Abstracts, which is open until June 10, 2022. NIPFC is a regular and frequent presenter and participant at this conference, which continues to evolve and make international impacts in the urgent advancement of child welfare reform.

We next share the California Child Welfare Co-Investment Partnership’s Fall 2021 volume of Insights: “Continuum of Care Reform: The Promise, Progress and Moving Forward”.  This issue tells much of the story of California’s journey to reimagine and reform its congregate care industry, and is a very worthwhile read.

We wrap up this blast by including a link to a Compassion Fatigue Reset Specialist Training held by nationally renowned (and former NIPFC/Seneca employee!) Beverly Kyer. This online training will be held from May 11-13, so don’t delay if you want to learn more or participate in the training.
