IMPORTANT SNOW DAY UPDATE
South Country will have a snow day tomorrow and a planned remote learning day on Friday. Longwood and the main campus at Yaphank are also CLOSED tomorrow. Learning from Home
(Week of 12/14)
The holidays may look different this year, but dealing with a picky eater probably looks the same. If you have any questions, please reach out to speech therapist. Click below for some tips!

Here is a digital game that can be played on your tablet or computer. Count the winter objects. Pick the correct answer. If you get it right, do the activity. Get it wrong, no big deal try again! Numbers included in this game 0-10. Your kids will be asking to play it again and again!
CORE WORD "MORE"
(12/14-1/8)
The Core Word of the Week is MORE. Here is a printout, a story and a song you can share with your child to reinforce this word at home.

As a reminder of why we use core words at NIS, you can click here.

It's played just like Simon Says! Take turns listening to and giving directions.

Make some peppermint moon dough! Recipe can be found here.

When it's time to calm down, build Santa's Workshop at home.
NIS parents Derek and Christine Stevens are selling original artwork and tee shirts and donating all of the proceeds to NIS. Each donation will then be matched, making your donation go twice as far!
Save the Date! The NIS Golf Outing, our largest annual fundraiser, will take place at the Port Jefferson Country Club on 5/24/21. Sponsors and raffles needed. Click here for an invitation and here to sponsor us or to RSVP. Contact Susan for details.
Shop Amazon Smile
Please don't forget to keep making all of your Amazon purchases through Smile, especially this holiday season! Smile has all of the same items as Amazon at the same prices. The only difference is you making a difference.

Thank you once again for continuing to help us fulfil all of the items on our Amazon Wish List.
Attendance E-Mail
NIS has created an e-mail address that you may use to send COVID results and/or doctor notes: absencetracker@niskids.org. This e-mail will be monitored from 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM daily. If you have any questions, please call the school or e-mail kristenm@niskids.org. Thank you!
