Welcome to the ninth edition of NIS’s Resource Newsletter. We wanted to once again say thank you to all our families who are working so hard right now. May is Mental Health awareness month and we wanted to remind everyone to take care of yourselves. In this newsletter we are offering some articles and links to help you, as caregivers, to do that. We are also going to be adding in more social emotional work throughout our lessons with your children. Talking care of our emotional well-being and that of our children is crucial, sometimes just as, if not more important than, the academic lessons. At NIS we always focus on children’s development in this area through everyday lessons, modeling and our Incredible Years curriculum. If you are feeling overwhelmed and stressed please reach out to us.
Please remember, as per the NIS calendar, there were will be no school on Friday, May 22nd and Monday, May 25th. Therefore, no distance learning activities will be scheduled. We do, however, encourage you to refer to the following links and those in previous issues (which can be found
) whenever you and your children would like. We thank all of you who have served our country and hope you and your families have a safe and relaxing Memorial Day weekend.
