Dear Members,
I recently informed the NISC Board of Directors of my intention to retire after a 44-year career at NISC. While this decision was not easy for me, the time has come to spend more time with my wife, children and grandchildren.
I'm very thankful for my years at NISC and grateful to the Board of Directors for the opportunity to lead this fantastic organization. I'm also thankful for the dedicated and talented NISC employees who I have had the privilege to work with over the years. I greatly appreciate the support you have shown this organization and me, personally. I get asked what has kept me motivated all these years, and I trace it back to working for and with all of our Members.

One of the key strengths of NISC is the cooperative model and oversight by a committed Board of Directors. The Board consists of leaders from 14 of our Member organizations who make a significant impact on the organization. The consistency of NISC's success can be directly traced back to the Board and all that they do to guide the organization. Succession planning is one of the responsibilities of the Board. In January, I shared my intention to retire, and the Board put the succession plan into action. They determined the successor would come from within NISC's experienced leadership team and interviewed multiple internal candidates. The Board was dedicated to naming a successor who was familiar with NISC and would work to strengthen NISC's culture, share the commitment to serve our Members and build strong relationships to move NISC forward.
I'm happy to announce the Board chose Doug Remboldt as the next leader to move NISC into the future. He will take over as President and CEO on May 27, 2023.
I have had the privilege to work alongside Doug Remboldt for 23 years. Doug loves this organization and has worked closely with our Members over the years. He has a great appreciation for what NISC employees do every day to help our Members be successful. He believes in our Member-focused service culture, has proven his dedication to NISC and will take the organization to the next level. I have full confidence Doug will continue to take care of our employees, so they can take care of you, our valued Members, today and into the future.
I'm looking forward to working with Doug, my colleague and friend, to ensure a smooth transition. I know I will be leaving NISC and our Members in great hands.
I am proud to be a part of the NISC team helping you serve your communities, and I wish all of our Members the very best with a future of health, happiness and success.
