NEF scholarship application closes Wednesday, March 4

The Northwest ISD Education Foundation student scholarship application is open and all students who plan to graduate this school year can apply. Several scholarship opportunities will be available. NEF scholarship funds may be used toward continued education at an accredited institution, including college, university, military academy, vocational or trade school.

Cox foundation grant provides students with unique ways to learn

Thanks to the generous support of our community, the Northwest ISD Education Foundation (NEF) annually provides thousands of dollars in grants to fund teaching projects. In a recent grant at Cox Elementary, P.E. teacher Stacie Breckley incorporated technology with wellness activities. Games projected on the floor require students to move to win, while the technology can also be used to create fun ways to learn in other content areas, such as math or language arts.

Graduates recognized from Fort Worth Police Department's Teen Academy

Adams Middle School students recently graduated from the Fort Worth Police Department’s Teen Academy, a six-week course that provides guidance for those interested in entering careers in law enforcement.

The students learned from Fort Worth Police Department school resource officers and academy personnel. Adams had the largest student group of any school in attendance, with 17 students participating in the program.

Adams students were led by Officer Dan Bailey, the school SRO.

Students in the 44th graduating class included Aubrey Haynes, Peyton Pinault, James Stokes, Madison Mauppin, Jyotsana Lamsal, Uriah Pack, Milaissa De Jesus, Bailey Montgomery, Olivia Gee, Kloe Blanton, David Roach, Zach Pope, Layssalee De Jesus, Danica Austin, Danasja Sims, Jayden Faulkner and Landon Brown.
