NJ ACTS CREST (R25) Funded

NJ ACTS leadership is delighted to announce that the CREST Program, a R25 short term research program award has been awarded.

Led by Celine Gelinas, PhD and Lauren Aleksunes, PharmD/PhD, the NJ ACTS CREST program will immerse medical and pharmacy students in research experiences that advance their analytical and technical skills and stimulate their pursuit of advanced research training. Ultimately, CREST offers an approach to build a well-trained and diverse workforce prepared to address challenges in clinical and translational science.

Awarded by NCATS, the CREST Program is dependent upon the NJ ACTS UM1 (hub) award. The CREST Program joins NJ ACTS as its newest education and training initiative.

NJ ACTS Virtual Intern Publication

Sally Lu, PharmD

Workforce Development Virtual Intern Publication

Congratulations to Sally Lu, PharmD, formerly a student at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, and her mentor, John Kerrigan, PhD of the School of Graduate Studies – Biomedical Health Sciences, on their co-authored publication,A Method for Creating NIH Data Training Tables with REDCap and NIH xTRACT.”

This translational science project tackled the challenge of creating the tables required by NIH for training grants by combining the use of REDCap and NIH xTRACT and leveraging the strengths of each to develop an efficient “federated” method of data collection and construction for NIH Tables (2, 4, 5A/B, 6A/B & -8A part III/8C part III) for new and renewal applications.
