Introducing the New NJ ACTS K12 Scholars

NJ ACTS congratulates the latest cohort of scholars chosen for the K12 program. The K12 Scholars Program, DEVELOP, supports the career development of promising junior faculty committed to advancing human health through clinical and translational research. Through a program of research, mentoring, and training, DEVELOP is aimed at training the next generation of scientists to become independent investigators pursuing cutting-edge, impactful health science.

Funding Opportunity


This RFA solicits innovative projects that address significant roadblocks in clinical and translational science (CTS). Faculty investigators at Rutgers University, Princeton University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the RWJBarnabas Health System are eligible to apply.


Projects should:

  • Focus on strategies and/or innovations to overcome truly significant challenges in clinical and translational research
  • Improve dissemination and/or implementation of evidence-based interventions
  • Address a translational research question in a particular disease or intervention context, but provide insights or innovations that are generalizable across different diseases and/or translational research projects
  • Increase efficiency and/or effectiveness of research translation
  • Budget up to $162,500 in direct costs per year for up to two years.

RFA Release: August 4, 2025

Letter of Intent Deadline: September 15, 2025 (LOI Form Link)

Notification of Projects Selected for Full Proposals: Early October 2025

Full Proposal Deadline: November 21, 2025 by 5:00 PM EST

Award Notification: January 2026

The goal of our fellowship program is to encourage students and Post-Docs to participate in an educational experience where they will explore innovation and commercialization processes while participating in an I-Corps Cohort.


We hope to expand the pipeline of future innovators through this unique program, where Fellows work alongside researchers to help understand customer needs. Selected fellows will receive a fellowship stipend.


Admission is done on a rolling basis.

Multicenter Clinical Trial Training Program


The Trial Innovation Network began a program, led by Johns Hopkins, to enhance critical competencies needed for managing multicenter clinical trials effectively.

Clinical Research Coordination (CRC) Level-1


This CRC Badging Course is designed to introduce individuals to the responsibilities, knowledge, and tasks performed by entry-level Clinical Research Coordinators. Participants will achieve level 1 competency in six clinical trial competency domains governing the conduct of clinical trials: Scientific Concepts and Research Design, Ethics & Participant Safety Considerations, Investigational Products Development & Regulation, Clinical Study Operations (GCP), Study and Site Management, and Data Management & Informatics.


The CRC Badging course is self-paced, takes about 20 hours to complete, and consists of 5 modules. Read More

NCATS Rare Diseases Are Not Rare!

2025 Challenge Prize Competition

 

The goals of this challenge are to:

(1) Raise awareness for all rare diseases and the people they affect in a collective manner

(2) Highlight the need for cross-cutting research and development of new treatments using multi-disease models

(3) Increase meaningful engagement with the rare disease community


NCATS is seeking innovative ways to communicate with others and educate the public about rare diseases through art disseminated on various platforms by means of changing the way we think about the problem, the way we fund and do research – Ultimately making rare disease drug development more efficient, bringing attention to rare diseases so that they can gain more medical research interest and support, thereby improving lives. Read More
