Princeton Researchers Find a Path Toward Hep E Treatment by Disentangling Its Knotty Structure
NJ ACTS congratulates Alexander Ploss and his team for their work on Hepatitis E. They focused on a Hep E protein called ORF1, determining a mysterious sequence of its genome creates a molecular scaffold to stabilize the rest of the ORF1 protein. Their work could contribute to developing new treatments for “this under-studied human viral pathogen,” said Ploss. Read the Full Article
Dr. Ploss is also a NJ ACTS Pilot Grant recipient for his project Capturing the impact of SARS-CoV-2 evolution on human pulmonary responses.
