NJ ACTS Team Science
Are you the PI or MPI of a funded multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, or transdisciplinary research project?
The Team Science Core of NJ ACTS hosts a virtual seminar entitled "Team Science Across the NJ ACTS Consortium" that features leaders and team members of multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary research projects taking place within the NJ ACTS consortium to explore how complex research teams are formed, operated, and achieve success.
If you are interested in having your project featured in the series, please let us know by contacting teamscience@rbhs.rutgers.edu.
Participation will allow others to learn from your experiences and will increase the visibility of your project and team.

Princeton Undergraduates Gain Real-World Experience Through Community Health Micro-Internships
Four Princeton undergraduate students — Zoe Tavares, Adrija Kundu, Lena Chau, and Janah Richardson — gave back to communities and gained practical, real-world experience by working with New Jersey-based organizations focused on public health-related projects and research.
The New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science (NJ ACTS) collaborated with the Program for Community-Engaged Scholarship (ProCES) and community partners to design and fund four different short-term initiatives. These remote projects, which addressed specific community health and organizational needs, offered the Princeton students valuable experiential learning opportunities between the 2024 and 2025 academic semesters. The Weill Cornell/Rutgers NeuroHIV Symposium, held on April 24, 2025, marked a pivotal moment in strengthening regional collaboration around HIV and neuroscience research.
| | | | Lishomwa (Lish) Ndhlovu, MD, PhD | | |
Co-led by Tricia Burdo, PhD of Rutgers University and Lishomwa (Lish) Ndhlovu, MD, PhD of Weill Cornell Medicine, the event launched the New York-New Jersey Center for Advancing NeuroHIV Discovery and Innovation (NY-NJ CANDI) Initiative and brought together researchers from both institutions—each contributing two speakers—to showcase interdisciplinary science and spark new interactions across basic, clinical, and translational fields. The symposium catalyzed connections between emerging and established investigators, fostering meaningful networking opportunities and seeding new cross-institutional collaborations that are expected to accelerate progress in neuroHIV research.
With a mission to advance discovery, transform therapies, and ultimately improve outcomes for people with or at risk for HIV, NY-NJ CANDI aims to grow a regional research ecosystem that drives innovation and extends its impact far beyond the bi-state area.

NIH Postpones Common Forms Requirement
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced that it has postponed the implementation of Common Forms, initially scheduled for May 25, 2025, until further notice. NIH applicants and recipients must continue to use the current NIH Biosketch and Other Support format pages for applications, Just-in-Time (JIT), and Research Performance Progress Reports. The health sciences libraries will monitor the NIH for future Guide Notices outlining the new effective date and additional implementation details as they are finalized, and we’ll update our resource guide.
