Rutgers Addiction Researchers and Student Affairs Professionals Collaborate on All About U
All About U launched this summer as Rutgers–New Brunswick’s science-based reimagining of the drug and alcohol prevention training that colleges are federally required to provide incoming students.
Created through a first-of-its-kind partnership between the Rutgers Addiction Research Center and the Rutgers–New Brunswick Division of Student Affairs, the 20-minute program grew from a National Institutes of Health-funded study examining how to deliver drug prevention education that incorporates the latest scientific advances, while being engaging and useful for students, said Professor Danielle Dick, director of the center within the Rutgers Brain Health Institute and lead developer of All About U. Dr. Dick is also an investigator for Element E, researching the 'Implementation of a novel genetic services model to enhance patient care'.

Reynold Panettieri, Jr, MD
Reynold Panettieri led a Discussion Focus, with panels evaluating real-world data platforms, regulatory frameworks, and methodologies for accelerating "bench-to-bedside" medical research. Dr. Panettieri led a panel discussion that brought together academic, clinical, industry, and regulatory stakeholders to examine emerging strategies for leveraging real-world evidence, enhancing clinical trial recruitment and execution, addressing data governance and regulatory considerations, and strengthening cross-sector collaborations that advance translational science and improve patient outcomes. The session fostered dialogue on practical approaches to integrating innovative technologies, data-driven decision-making, and scalable research infrastructure to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into clinical practice.

Casandra Burrows, E. Mendy Dunn
The CTSA hub administrative leaders, chaired by Casandra Burrows (Rutgers University) and co-chaired by E. Mendy Dunn (University of Florida), shared innovations, best practices, and emerging strategies that support effective research administration across the CTSA Hubs. The agenda this year centered on the practical application of artificial intelligence in hub administration and evaluation, featuring expert-led panels on AI tools for recruitment planning, scholar impact reporting, administrative efficiency, and frameworks for measuring research impact. Participants also engaged in interactive table discussions, networked with peers, and concluded the session with recognition of leadership excellence through the inaugural CTSA Hub Administration Superior Leadership Award.
