Inside CEC: Impact in Action

Sara Heinert, PhD, MPH

This month, we're highlighting Dr. Heinert and her project,

Engaging Youth as Citizen Scientists to Determine Health Needs of New Brunswick Adults

Dr. Heinert is one of our many talented Partnership and Innovation Accelerator Program (PIAP) awardees.

PIAP facilitates collaboration with local organizations on health research that benefits our communities. Through this program, Dr. Heinert partnered with New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School to create a hands-on public health program where students serve as citizen scientists.

These findings can inform future health interventions for New Brunswick while engaging youth to drive their own inquisition about their community’s health.
