NJ Department of Human Services Selects New Fiscal Intermediary

A message from the Division of Developmental Disabilities

Following review and vetting of responses to its Request for Proposals (RFP), the New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS) has awarded funding for Fiscal Services Management (commonly referred to as "fiscal intermediary" services) to Public Partnerships LLC (PPL) , a subsidiary of Public Consulting Group, Inc. (PCG). PPL will operate as the fiscal intermediary (FI) for participant-directed services and supports for individuals served through the Divisions of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Aging Services (DoAS), and Disability Services (DDS).

This is good news for individuals receiving Division-funded services who wish to utilize a Self-Directed Employee (SDE, formerly referred to as a "self-hire"). There are five services available in the Supports Program for which the use of either a Self-Directed Employee is an option: Community Based Supports, Interpreter Services, Respite, Supports Brokerage, and Transportation. An individual enrolled in the Supports Program who is assessed to need any of these services can discuss the possibility and appropriateness of utilizing an SDE with his/her Support Coordinator. Information about utilization of an SDE is found in Section 8.3.2 of the Supports Program Policies and Procedures Manual .

More information regarding the Division's transition to a new fiscal intermediary will be released as it becomes available.
