The application window for the relaunched Community Energy Plan Grant (“CEPG”) Program is now open.
Recognizing the importance of community level energy planning as part of one of the seven strategies listed in the Energy Master Plan, the CEPG program was created to help align local efforts with state goals and to support communities developing sustainable strategies that increase clean energy production, reduce energy use, and cut emissions.
The CEPG Program had been temporarily paused by the Board as part of the FY 2022 Clean Energy Program Budget for re-evaluation by the Office of Clean Energy Equity. Having evaluated the program and redesigned it with a simplified application process and focus on overburdened communities, the CEPG Program was approved by the Board on October 6, 2021.
The CEPG Program is now open for all municipalities. This iteration of the program has identified forty-eight “Overburdened Municipalities” that will be eligible for an enhanced grant amount and additional technical assistance.
