The 2024 New Jersey Coastal & Climate Resilience Conference

The NJCRC and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) co-hosted their first N.J. Coastal and Climate Resilience Conference from March 12-14 at Monmouth University. The event gathered 300 attendees and nearly 150 speakers for three days of wide-ranging discussions on the challenges facing the state’s diverse coastal environments.

Our January Technical Assistance Coffee Chat examined the work involved with conducting a local Climate Change-Related Hazard Vulnerability assessment to protect and strengthen communities while meeting all 2021 Municipal Land Use Law amendment requirements. With guest speakers from New Jersey Future, Sustainable Jersey, and the NJDEP.

On November's Technical Assistance Coffee Chat Joseph Sutkowi, chief waterfront design Officer at the Waterfront Alliance, explored an update to the WEDG® (Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines) standard, what it entails, and how municipalities can apply it to public and private-sector development.
