NJSPE Engineering Student Scholarships
Do you know an engineering student who would be a great fit to apply for the NJSPE Engineering Student Scholarship? The New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers is currently accepting applications for the 2024 Engineering Student Scholarships. NJSPE has implemented new scholarships to assist the brightest and most talented future engineers. There are three NJSPE scholarships. The top applicant will receive a $3,000 scholarship and be named as the NJSPE Future Engineer of the Year. Second place will receive a $2,000 scholarship and third place will receive a $1,000 scholarship..
CRITERIA:
- Incoming Junior or Senior undergraduate engineering students who are enrolled full-time in a post-secondary education institution in New Jersey and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering are eligible to win a scholarship.
Scholarship application deadline is
Friday, April 12, 2024 by 5pm EST.

Considering the continued interest and enthusiasm from our community, we are pleased to announce that the deadline for nominations for the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers Awards Banquet has been extended. The new deadline for submitting nominations is now Friday, March 1, 2024. This extension aims to ensure that everyone has ample time to put forward deserving individuals for recognition at our upcoming event.
Your nominations play a crucial role in acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of those who have positively impacted the field. This year’s awards will be presented at the Installation & Awards Dinner on June 27, 2024 at Mercer Oaks.

Governor Murphy Announces Francis K. O’Connor to Serve as Commissioner of the Department of Transportation.
Governor Phil Murphy announced his intention to nominate Francis (Fran) K. O’Connor as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation (DOT). O’Connor’s nomination follows the transition of current DOT Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti to her new role as Governor Murphy’s Chief of Staff.

Governor Murphy and Princeton University Announce Plans to Establish Artificial Intelligence Hub in New Jersey.
Governor Phil Murphy and Princeton University President Christopher Eisgruber announced plans to establish a hub for artificial intelligence (AI) activity in New Jersey in collaboration with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA). Leveraging state funding and private sector partnerships, the initiative will advance New Jersey’s leadership in AI and catalyze innovation in AI technologies, drive job growth and economic development across the region, promote rapid and responsible development of the field, and guide governments and public entities on AI implementation. The establishment of this new initiative underscores the Murphy Administration’s commitment to supporting innovation and the technologies of the future in tandem with New Jersey’s world-renowned higher education institutions.
