FROM THE PASTOR...
It is the middle of convention season. All over the country in convention centers people are gathering to celebrate the things they love. While there are a whole host of small, local conventions, some of these gatherings are truly massive. The San Diego Comic Con, for instance, has an attendance of 130,000. For over a decade I have regularly attended my own large convention: Gen Con in Indianapolis. Gen Con is this month, and I will be joining 60,000 or so people for the best four days in gaming. August Mission of the Month - Operation Classroom In the month of August, your gifts will be used to support Operation Classroom, a hands-on mission in West Africa for United Methodists. Date of Special Offering: August 4, 2019 ______________________________ 
Promotion Sunday/Teacher Appreciation *Sunday, August 18th is Promotion Sunday in both services. *Children will be promoted to their new Children's Church Class and Sunday School Class. *Children entering third grade will also be presented with a Bible. *Teachers will be recognized. *Everyone is invited to witness this time of celebration! ________________________________
All elementary aged kids (K-6th grade) are invited to our Super Sunday Parties! These monthly parties are just for kids, and each month will have a different fun theme. This month the theme is slime! The August party will be at the church on August 25th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. |

LITTLE LIGHTS PRESCHOOL
And here it is... the start of a new school year. Many wonderful children have passed through our doors. I am looking forward to the 2019-20 school year. It will start on Monday, August 12 for the 4/5 year-old M/W/F classes. Classes will start for the 3 year-old T/TH classes on Tuesday, August 13.
We are looking forward to a great school
year with plenty of learning activities and experiences.
Our day includes Play Time, Calendar Time, Bible Story
Time, Learning Time, Puzzle Time, Snack Time, &
Story Time. The students take turns bringing in snacks
and being the leader. As the leader they get to "paint"
at the easel, call the students to line up to use the bathroom,
say the prayers, pass out napkins, etc. They LOVE to be the
leader.
I am really looking forward to greeting all of my new students
and returning students! I know this is going to be a year
filled with new experiences that God has in store for us!
