FROM THE PASTOR...
Church

We are part of the more than 10 million people who jumped onto the bandwagon and subscribed to Disney+.    This is a streaming video service like Netflix, except it is all focused on Disney owned content.   Like many others, we have been enjoying it so far.   On social media, I have noticed a trend among parents with Disney+.   They are using the service to introduce some nostalgic favorites to their children.   I am just as guilty.   My kids have now seen the Rocketeer and it is just a matter of time before I subject them to deep cuts like Mr. Boogity. UNITED METHODIST WOMEN NEWS

This month we will have our annual outing on Tuesday, December 10th.  Time & place will be determined at a later date. All women are invited!

All elementary aged kids (K-6th grade) are invited to our Super Sunday Parties!  These monthly parties are just for kids, and each month will have a different fun theme. The December party will be at the church on December 22nd from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

     Little Lights Preschool

December is an exciting month for our preschoolers. They can't wait for Christmas.  They are already discussing what gifts they want, singing Christmas songs, and talking about Santa.
But they will learn that these things are not the only reasons we celebrate this holiday.  They will hear a story about how an angel spoke to Mary and Joseph.  They will find out where Jesus was born.  They will learn that shepherds spread the news of Jesus' birth and Wisemen brought Him gifts.  But the most important thing they will learn is that Jesus is God's gift to all of us!
During class time they will do a variety of
Christmas activities including making ornaments
for our tree and making a nativity decoration.  On the last class day they will have a Christmas party and gift exchange.

Happy Birthday, Jesus!!

BIBLE STUDY

Pastor Sean will be leading a one night Bible Study entitled "Advent Bible Study for Busy People".  It will take place in Fellowship Hall on Monday, December 16th from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

ANGEL TREE 2019

Once again NJUMC will be celebrating with our annual Angel Tree.  This will give us the opportunity to show our love to the children in our community by purchasing a gift for a child in need.  Cheryl Allen will be heading up this Ministry with her team of "shepherds" who hope to share the "good news of Jesus' love".  The tree is in the Narthex with the names of the children and a sign-up sheet.  Gifts should be wrapped and brought to the church on Saturday, December 21st from 3-5 p.m., or on Sunday morning of the 22nd.    We anticipate bringing joy to about 30 children and hope you will discover the true joy that comes from giving.  The entire Angel Tree team wishes you all a blessed Christmas!!!

SO GRATEFUL

All the children and their teacher (Kathy Vorm) of LIttle Lights Preschool would like to thank Chris Verhagen, Kirt Verhagen and Amy Mosher for their generous donations to our preschool.  The children love the whiteboard and markers & all of the other supplies they provided.
Also, the preschoolers can't wait until Spring comes.  Amy, Kirt & Chris have made a monetary donation for an outdoor play area for the preschoolers.  It is currently under construction and will be completed in the Spring.
This was only made possible because of their generous donation!
Thank you so much!!

It's that time of year again when we decorate the sanctuary with beautiful flowers! We will be accepting donations in any monetary amount to be applied toward the purchase of poinsettias. With an arrangement with the florist, we will be purchasing the poinsettias for the sanctuary. Please fill out a form if you wish to have it in memory or honor of a loved one.  Forms can be found in the Narthex.  Forms and donations can be given to Lynette Altman, Amy Mosher or Cheryl Orkis by December 15th.
