FROM THE PASTOR...

The "Great Commandment" of Jesus is recorded in each of the first three Gospels. Here Christ followers are commanded to love God with their whole being and to love others as they love themselves.

The first requirement is to love Creator God with all of our heart, soul, mind, strength. In other words with all of our being in every way possible! We love God with our emotions (heart) so it is OK to get excited and show the joy that springs up when we express our love. Our soul, our innermost being, desires to be in full relationship with the one who made us and loves us unconditionally.

July Mission of the Month - Vacation Bible School Mission: Heifer International

In the month of July, your gifts will be combined with the VBS kids' offering and sent to Heifer International to help fight hunger and poverty by purchasing animals for families in need in foreign countries.

Your generosity sustains our mission and enhances the tradition of providing "help for today and hope for tomorrow" to hundreds of abused, neglected and troubled children and their families each year. KID'S CLOSET NEWS

We are getting ready for our 6th Annual "Pack-a-Backpack" Event! . There will be a school supplies drive on July 14th from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Dollar General Stores in North Judson and Knox. We are also collecting school supplies in a container in the Narthex throughout the month of July. Please pick up a school supplies list next to the container if you would like to donate. The "Pack-a-Backpack" event will be held on July 23rd & 24th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. This event is open to all children in need in Starke County. Please sign up to help with these events. Thank you to all those who support this ministry. You are making a difference in the lives of children in need in our community. UNITED METHODIST WOMEN NEWS

Our meeting this month will be on Tuesday, July 10th at 1:30 p.m. in the Church Lounge. All women are invited! Sanctuary clean-up for July is Betty Tolson.

Let the Community of Faith declare the promise of Eternal Life for Fred Vorm who died May 24, 2018.
